Souvenirs

Bundles of letters bound up with a bow
tickets I kept from a theatre show
photograph albums now faded with age
wonderful memories on every page
holiday postcards that still bring a smile
banish the lonliness just for awhile

I’ll keep my souvenirs to light my quiet years
call to mind happiness thinking of your caress
Your photo’s on the wall, yes love, I’ve kept them all
these are my souvenirs

I’ve kept the pictures we took for a laugh
every recording and each photograph
I know the words of your letters by heart
they mean so much to me now we’re apart
I read your poetry and sing your songs
My mind is one with yours, where it belongs

I’ll keep my souvenirs, gathered from many years
Each holds a memory that brings you back to me
I have you captured here, and often cry a tear
over my souvenirs

I’ll keep my souvenirs, gathered from many years
Each holds a memory that brings you back to me
I have you captured here, and often cry a tear
over my souvenirs
